He owns me

Jesus paid a terrible price
for my soul.
On His back the soldiers
crisscrossed His perfect skin
with a cat o' nine tails.
They stripped Him of His clothing.
They mocked Him and shoved a crown of thorns
on His bloody brow
forcing Him to carry the beam
that would support His dying body.

Yet He never turned away from the agony of the death
on the Roman cross
because
He looked down the centuries
and saw me.
A Sinner
who depended on Him
to provide the price of freedom

Freedom from the penalty of sin
Freedom from the accusations of Satan
Freedom to choose Jesus as my only hope.
Freedom to build a living relationship
with the Holy Creator of me.

He bore all my guilt and shame
so that I can live with Him forever.
Rejoice in the Master
the Lord God of the Universe
the God-Man who loved me
enough to sacrifice everything
for me
for you
for all humanity.

He owns me - body, heart, mind, soul.

HE OWNS ME!
