TRUST AND OBEY

In 1887 John H. Sammis wrote a short poem plus a repeat chorus about how to trust in Jesus, and Daniel B. Towner set the words to music.

Popularly known as "Trust and Obey", these men expressed the peace that comes when God's children turn to him in obedient trust.

When we walk with the Lord,
In the Light of His Word,
What a glory he sheds on our way!
Let us do His good will;
He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey
For there is no other way
To be happy in Jesus
But to trust and obey.

Not a burden we bare,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil he doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss.
Not a frown or a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey

CHORUS

But we never can prove
The delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows
And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey.

CHORUS

Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet
Or we will walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Trust and obey,
for there is not other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

Jesus, the Savior of the World, the Master who takes our burdens on Himself, offers His merciful grace to those who acknowledge Him as LORD GOD, Master, ruler of each person's soul.  Jesus, the delight of those who believe in His promise of eternal life, (John 3:16-17) gave himself as the perfect sacrifice for the individual sins of people. All that must be done is to acknowledge the sins and BEG for forgiveness then turn back to the merciful loving God who is waiting for His children to come home.

This is my Father's world

Where have you been?

 Have you asked that question of friends, family, classmates, the doctor, the minister, or maybe a complete stranger? BUT have you bothered to ask "Where have you been?" of your relationship with the Most High Triune Lord God?  The Creator of the Universe wants to have a living relationship with you in a one to one time of communication.  In the old song, we are reminded that God is waiting for us to actually speak to him as a person speaks to other humans.  June Deniece William s and Miles C. Austin write:                                     I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses,                                     and the voice I hear falling on my ear,                                 ...

Thirst after the pure Word of God

This is my Father's World And I rest me in the thought that though the wrong seems oft so strong GOD IS THE RULER YET. Depend on the Most High Creator Lord God who loves you more than human thought, words, or actions can express.  Let His love flood through your life and surround you.   Daily give your life to the control and guidance of God.
