What does God mean when He demands that I repent of my sins?
Repent means to regret, to say sorry, to ask for forgiveness.
God means more.
He wants His child to see the reality of the sin nature and to abhore it. He wants the utter realization of personal sin and that each person CANNOT reach the pure holy God without the blood sacrifice of Jesus, the perfect unblemished sacrifice. I must not only regret my sin, but I must know that the only path into the holy presence of God is by the narrow gate provided by Jesus, Savior, Master, Beloved.
Repent means to turn completely from sin and live a life dedicated to Jesus allowing Him complete control. Such easy words to type, yet extremely difficult to live. Each day I must WILLINGLY sacrifice my choices and wants to those of the Father and ask for His direction. Like the woman at the well, I seek to find the reality of life through the Anointed One, Jesus the Christ, Messiah, Savior.
Please Lord pour your living water into my soul that I may bloom where you place me.
Refresh your spirit with the Living Water of Jesus.
