TRUST AND OBEY

In 1887 John H. Sammis wrote a short poem plus a repeat chorus about how to trust in Jesus, and Daniel B. Towner set the words to music. Popularly known as "Trust and Obey", these men expressed the peace that comes when God's children turn to him in obedient trust. When we walk with the Lord, In the Light of His Word, What a glory he sheds on our way! Let us do His good will; He abides with us still And with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey For there is no other way To be happy in Jesus But to trust and obey. Not a burden we bare, Not a sorrow we share, But our toil he doth richly repay; Not a grief or a loss. Not a frown or a cross, But is blest if we trust and obey CHORUS But we never can prove The delights of His love Until all on the altar we lay; For the favor He shows And the joy He bestows Are for them who will trust and obey. CHORUS Then in fellowship sweet We will sit at His feet Or we will walk by His side in the wa...

WAIT patiently with trusting hope like a seed waits for spring rains to start sprouting like yeast waits in a jar to be used to make bread like flower buds wait to blossom WATCH at all times like a like a sheep dog watches his flock like a curious child watches new games like parents watch for their children to come back home PRAY without ceasing in all diligence, daily, constantly in hope for a better future, for a solution to problems in humble trust that the MOST HIGH GOD, King of the Universe will return to gather His family to go home, Wait, Watch, Pray the job of each child of God 2 Chronicles 7:14-19 Romans 12:9-21 1 Corinthians 13

REPENT

Admit it.  Sin corrupts me covering me in the swampy muck pulling me away like an alligator smothering its prey hiding the glowing steady light of God. My body becomes useless and weak as my sins destroy blasting my hope shattering my joy splintering my peace. Into this self destructive darkness, LIGHT explodes uncovering the lies of the destroyer who hates mankind, the creation of God. Once God shines His light in my life, I see the leprosy of my bleeding soul. I cry out for forgiveness, repenting of my many manifold sins which Jesus washes away - like a waterfall washes a river clear of mud. Lord Jesus please forgive me my selfishness, my petty angers, my attempts to control others Lord I ask you to bless my family, friends, nation and lead us back to you. Thank you Lord for your mercy and grace.  Thank you for your shed blood that covers my sin.Thank you for your strength and protection.

Jesus said:

After 40 days fasting and praying in the Wilderness, Jesus returned to civilization.  There Satan greeted Him with demands that Jesus prove He is the One True Son of God. First Satan said that "IF you are to son of God, turn these stones into bread and eat." Jesus refused to follow human nature, stating "Man does not live by bread alone, but by the WORD that comes from the very mouth of God." quoting scripture Second Satan demanded that Jesus jump off the top of the Temple.  Again Jesus refused because people are not to tempt the Lord God Almighty quoting scripture. Third Satan promised all the world to Jesus IF He would worship Satan.  Jesus refused a third time say "It is WRITTEN, You shall worship the Lord your God, and HIM only shall you serve." In the Bible, God has given His children specific instructions on how to live a life of service and worship of the Most High Triune God.  In Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus specifically outlined this life. 1.  Stu...

What is your gift? Preacher Teacher Mother Father Encourager Helper Servant Farmer Soldier Guardian No matter what you have been designed to do, you must want to serve the Lord with all of your heart, mind, and soul. Hope lies in the Word of God

By May 1 the United States will have been quarantined for 40 (forty) days. QUARANTINE has as the Latin root the number forty.  The number 40 is vital to the message of God.  Noah's flood lasted 40 days. Moses fled Egypt  40 years. Moses stayed on Mt Sinia 40 days as God explained the 10 Commandments The Exodus lasted 40 years. Jesus fasted 40 days. A woman is to rest 40 days after giving birth. Optimum number of weeks for human gestation is 40. A group of theologians believ e that the number forty represents change - a time of preparation of a person, people for a fundamental change... God has a special event planned for the world after this time of preparation. Now is the time to pray - humbly seeking the will of God and obeying what He asks of each person.  Read and APPLY Romans 12:9-21 to your life daily. The Most High God, Creator, Master, Savior. is the source of protection from evil and the refuge of His people. pray....Pray....PRAY.... PRAY.... ...

Prayer of Confession

Lord, It is hard to be humble.  We live in a world that encourages self-pride and self-glorification.  You call us to consider others before considering ourselves, yet the cry of this generation is so often, "me first."  We look for ways to be served, rather than seeking ways we can be servants.  Forgive us, Lord, and make our hearts to be conformed to yours.  Unite us with Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.  It is the HOLY Name of Jesus that we humbly pray.  Amen

Obey the Master

Trust in the Word of the Lord because it is TRUE. Obey the Will of the Lord daily to show that you are a true child of God. How to obey God is found through out the Bible, but in Romans 12:9-21, Paul clearly explains how to please the Lord and Master Love honestly Avoid evil and seek Good Honor others no matter who their are Serve the Lord with a cheerful heart and to the best of your ability Rejoice and hope in the Lord PRAY constantly Give to those in need Bless those who hate you Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep Be kind to one another and celebrate the achievements of others Be honest in all things Live in peace with all people, when possible. OBEY GOD PRAY CONSTANTLY REJOICE IN THE POWER OF GOD SHARE ALWAYS

Encouragement

How do I encourage others?  How do I show my love for Jesus, the Lord and Master of my soul, my Savior?  In Philippians 1:9-11 Paul shows the readers that through prayer the Christian brother can support and encourage fellow believers. Pray for the guidance of God, daily. Pray continually, like a constant conversation. (Be the teenager on the iPhone) Pray in generalities when specifics are hidden. Pray with a broken needy heart (constantly examine what you want to say, think, believe) Philippians 1:9-11 explains how to pray for others. Request a growing love for God which reflects a growing love for others increasing knowledge in the pathway of God understanding the right standing with God seeing evil for what it is and choose to follow the Good of God being refined like the refining process of gold as we continue to wait for the return of Jesus praising God continually with thoughts, actions, and prayers. During this time pf enforced captivity, seek the guidan...

Endurance

The time of waiting demands patience and trust in image that the Most High Father creates for His children.  Yet by nature, children despise the timeless process of spiritual growth with the LONG periods of waiting for action.  During this time of waiting for the power of God to be displayed and for the people of Earth to acknowledge that God is the Supreme Master and Lord of all that was, is, and will be - impatience becomes the result of too much time to think.  Yet this time of thinking could be best used to focus on exactly who God is and what He want His children to do.  Now more than ever the children of God must Repent, Return, Renew, and Rely on God the Father who offers the blessing of His merciful grace and complete love. The growth of the spirit compares to the waiting of second string athletes who want to play in the big game only to be told to wait.  However, their time will come and then their love and trust for the Most High God will shine like ...

Time well spent

As we continue to wait, watch, and pray, we need to focus on our personal relationship with God who is listening for our humble and contrite prayers for forgiveness.  We need to use our time with God wisely.  One way is to read. YES, read a physical book that opens and nestles in the hands of the person who is reading. THE BEST BOOK  is the Bible, which is a 66 book library of the Story of  God love for His creation - all of it, from the dust of Earth to the newest baby born today. Other sources include The Gospel According to Jesus  - John MacArthur Twelve Ordinary Men  -John MacArthur Books by Max Lucado ( In the Grip of Grace, When God Whispers Your Name) The Mitford Series by Jan Karon Tender Victory  - Taylor Caldwell Spending time alone with God renews the spirit, fills the heart with joy, and cleanses the mind of impurities. Take time to be holy. Speak oft with thy Lord.

For God loved

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he GAVE his only begotten son that who ever believes in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life.  Jesus did not come into the world to condemn it but to save it. Rejoice in the Lord and give thanks for all of His awesome blessings, DAILY.  Remember the source of your life and power - the Creator God of the Universe, your Holy Father.

Praise the Lord

Praise the Lord Trust in His Holy Name Give Honor and Glory Sing of His Power. PRAY daily for the return of God's people to His Word. TRUST in His promises found in His Holy Word - the Bible LIVE so that the Glory of God shines through your actions and words. PRAISE the Lord for His blessings and healing TRUST the guidance of God and in His wisdom. LOVE your family, friends, neighbors following the eternal example of Jesus who demonstrated the true meaning of Love daily. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Good Friday 2020

Good Friday The day that Jesus the Savior of the World became the ONE Time sacrifice for the sins of the human race - every evil thought or deed - anything that separates people from God, represents the complete and total love that God has for His creation. He gave His only begotten Son as the propitiation for sin for anyone who willingly accepts the FREE gift that Jesus offers.  Free because there are no requirements or demands to be met by the recipient.  God has completed all the requirements and offers His merciful grace to each person on earth. Accept the wonderful gift of eternal life with the Creator God of the Universe.  Honor His sacrifice.  Give your life to God daily as a living sacrifice allowing Jesus to live in your spirit - soul, body, mind.

Rejoice in God's Baseline

WAIT

The most difficult thing to do is wait.  The natural inclination is to be active - solving problems, interacting with people, working at a "productive" job. Right now God has put the people of the world in time out. So we wait ... Wait to renew a relationship with God who is the ruler of this world and the entire universe. He created everything from the smallest nano-particle to the largest galaxy cluster for His enjoyment. Now people must learn that He guides our decisions, not the finite brain of wayward children. GROW UP!! Face responsibility for what you do and return to the Glorious Creator of the Universe who loves you personally and knows exactly what you will do, what you do, what you have done.  The Most High God totally awesome. Praise His Holy Name Rejoice in His gracious gift of a personal relationship with Him through the sacrifice of Jesus, the Christ.

PALM SUNDAY 2020

Although we are on "Stay at Home" orders, we can still celebrate Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week when Jesus entered Jerusalem in triumph.  We celebrate the arrival of God in our hearts and lives. Today 1. Read Psalm 100, which praises God and celebrates His loving power 2. Pray through 2 Chronicles 7:13-15, which begs for Gods help and recognizes our sins 3. Sing AMAZING GRACE, which reminds us that God loves us with utmost mercy 4. Read 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4, which tell us that the Gospel is true and eternal. SING PRAISES TO THE LORD!

7:14

Pray twice a day at 7:14 using 2 Chronicles 7:14 - Follow these steps: 1.  Repent of your sins - honestly, with a broken spirit, acknowledging the truth that you did not do what God wants, which is a sin 2. Pray to the Most High - speak openly to God about your sins and ask Him to forgive you (Daily, or more often, as often as you become aware of sin in your life) 3.Obey the Laws of God - the Ten Commandments - follow the direction of God 4.Refuse to follow the evil ways of the world - look to the Holy Pure God for your pattern in your life THEN come the awesome wonderful promise; God will hear from heaven, forgive the sins of his people, and heal the broken and wounded land. PRAY for forgiveness and seek the Kingdom of God with all your heart, mind, and soul. PRAY

celebrate the beauty of God's creation

Whether in the mountains or on the plains with    dawn bringing the reminder of God's power and love   We serve an awesome God.   Thank you Lord for your merciful grace and awesome love.

Bits and pieces

Sometimes it is the little things that bring comfort to a fearful and hurting soul. The following paraphrases of God's word may remind you that God is with you and in control of your life personally and nationally.  Remember "Lean not on your own understanding, but depend on God for all things, and he will guide your life." Our Heavenly Father knows your needs and gives you the strength to endure today. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. All things work for the good of the Children of God. As you have received Christ Jesus so walk in Him, rooted in His Word, built up in Him, established in faith and overflowing with joyful thanks. If we love (ACTION) one another, God abides in us, and His love becomes perfected in us. Like Paul accept your circumstances and count all your problems and praises as joy because God is in control.  What appears to be good may not ultimately be in your best interest. If we as dependent children of God a...

Trust in the Lord and PRAY

Trust in the Lord God for all things. We, the children of God, MUST open the hearts and minds of people around us so that they understand that the MOST HIGH GOD - creator of the universe, Lord of all nations, master of our souls - wants a holy (set apart from the world) relationship with each individual.  God offers the solution to the overwhelming problems of our nation and the nations of the world.  However, each person must recognize that people are sinful by nature and that only God provides the escape.  Then people should turn to God with a broken and contrite heart realizing the terrible cost for the opportunity to live with God for eternity. By following four simple steps, a person  can renew or build a relationship with God. 1.  REPENT of sin 2.  PRAY to the Almighty God for forgiveness and help 3. Obey what God says 4.  Stop following evil ideas and people.
